Institutional Housing
The Institutional Housing Project (IHP) was initially commissioned by His Majesty King Mswati III in his speech during the opening of parliament in 2009. The project was launched with the purpose of alleviating the civil service housing backlog. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MHUD) was directed to facilitate the provision of institutional housing for government employees to address the severe shortage of accommodation in the civil service; in order to carry out His Majesty’s vision MHUD in turn engaged the Eswatini Housing Board (EHB) to be the implementing agency for the project.
