International Development Assistance

What We Do

The Division of International Development Assistance (DIDA) sits under the Ministry of Finance, Banking and Postal Services and acts as a bridge between international partners and the national government, ensuring that aid is used efficiently and effectively to support the country’s development goals. DIDA plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating the inflow and utilization of external development aid and resources. Its responsibilities are essential in ensuring international aid aligns with national priorities and is used effectively.

The division plays a crucial role in maximizing the impact of international financial resources on local development projects. It is also responsible for navigating the complex requirements and regulations associated with these funding sources, ensuring compliance while strategically aligning projects with the development goals of each institution. It conducts thorough assessments to identify areas of need and potential investment, facilitating partnerships with stakeholders to create sustainable initiatives that drive economic growth.

Additionally, the division oversees the allocation and management of funds, meticulously tracking expenditures and outcomes to demonstrate accountability and transparency to donors. By fostering collaboration and innovation, the Division of Developmental Assistance not only enhances the effectiveness of funded projects but also contributes to the Ministry’s mission of promoting social and economic development in the Marshall Islands.
